ABOUT MAX

Max was introduced to shooting at age 12 by his father, Andrew Tarr, at Ladyswood Shooting School where his father taught.

Naturally a very keen sportsman, Max split his early years between shooting and playing rugby and competed in both to a high level – including competing, from an early age, at the Beretta World Championships every year.

Max soon followed in his father’s footsteps and earned the CPSA level 1 instructors’ qualification at the age of 17, and he has rapidly been gaining more and more qualifications and acclaim since then.

THE BEGINNING

Early on in Max’s shooting instructor journey, he and his father set up an events and hospitality company (Safe and Sound Shooting) coaching groups, both corporate and stag and hen parties, in clay shooting. It was these early years that forged an intensive foundation towards his coaching career, coaching thousands of people as a young coach. This grounding has been key for Max, honing the required skills to help diagnose and solve problems for anyone looking to improve their shooting.

At the Age of 21, Max earned his next coaching qualification, the Association of Professional Instructors Level One Instructors course, and it was at this point Max switched to coaching full-time.

Max then earned the CPSA Safety Officers qualification, and aged 24, the CPSA Level 1 Instructors qualification, shortly followed by the ISSF Cat D qualification in Olympic Trap/Skeet with British shooting and a Lantra Loaders qualification.

As the client base began to expand further, Max created various social media channels such as Instagram in late 2018, with the intention of sharing knowledge and coaching tips with budding and fellow shots. Boosting his offering further, Max introduced tuition vouchers and clay shooting deals.

Through this journey, Max’s shooting has rapidly progressed. This has been down to his commitment and dedication to practice and CPSA registered competitions. Currently Max is A Class and in 2021 will achieve the AA Class.

Max is lucky enough to have the support from amazing sponsors and corporate partners and cannot wait to continue the upward trajectory in 2021!

Max offers the complete 1-2-1 service, available seven days a week.

ABOUT FUTURE SHOTS ACADEMY

Max spotted an opportunity to bring youngsters into the sport through the provision of his time and resources to make a difference to their shooting journey, and hence Future Shots Academy was born.

Future Shots Academy is open to all and is not limited to those at a certain level. As well as cartridges and clays, Max provides free tuition for a group of young shots with the aim of helping them to improve their skills, develop their talent and above all ensure that they are enjoying their shooting.

Future Shots Academy is a passion for Max, where he is able to pass on all that he has learned and enjoyed, providing young shots with the chance to see what they can achieve in a safe and nurturing environment.
